Description
Here is the world-famous American Hot Dog recipe. With its pickles, and onion, and cheddar, a lot of ketchup and mustard, and a lot of everything in general. Because if there is something that we are not going to miss in these «American Retro» recipes are ingredients, loads of them.

To pickle the onions, julienne them and place them in a jar or bowl with sugar, salt, lemon, and water. Let it rest for at least one hour.
Open the buns lengthwise and toast both halves on a griddle with a bit of butter. Cook the sausages too.
Assemble the hot dog by placing the sausage inside the bun, with ketchup and mustard to taste.
Add diced cheese, cover with pickles, some pickled onion too, and garnish with chives.
You can add or substitute any other topping to taste but remember we want to keep the "American retro" spirit alive, so we encourage you to try it with all these ingredients.
